The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research’s North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST), headquartered in Jorhat, Assam, has announced 10 vacancies for the posts of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Driver (Non-Technical) through Advertisement No. 01/2026-REC.

Eligibility Criteria
For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Possessing an Intermediate (12th pass) qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
For Driver (Non-Technical):
Candidates must hold a Matriculation (10th Class) pass certificate, along with a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence, and a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
Age Limit
The age limit for each post is as follows, calculated as on the last date of application, i.e., June 4, 2026:

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Government of India rules.
Pay Scale and Salary
Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay levels under the 7th Pay Commission matrix:

In addition to the basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to allowances as per CSIR/Government of India norms.

- General / EWS / OBC: ₹500/-
- SC / ST / PwD / Ex-Servicemen / Female candidates: No fee (exempted)
Payment can be made online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
Selection Process
The selection for CSIR-NEIST Recruitment 2026 will be based on the following stages:
- For MTS: Written Test followed by Document Verification
- For Driver: Driving Test / Skill Test followed by Written Test and Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted after each stage will be called for the next round. Final merit will be prepared based on overall performance across all stages.
